Hungary guest of honour at Warsaw Book Fair 2016
The Warsaw International Book Fair opened on Thursday with Hungary as guest of honour
At the opening ceremony, Hungary was represented by Zoltan Balog, the human resources minister.
Referring to the traditional Polish-Hungarian friendship in his opening address, Poland's deputy prime minister Piotr Glinski said that "if we have a friend whom we can always rely on, we will be glad to learn about their culture".
Balog stressed the importance of cooperation between countries of central Europe. "It is more important now than ever to understand each other and see what links us and see what are the obstacles to be overcome," he said.
At the book fair closing on Sunday, twenty contemporary and classic Hungarian books are being presented to the public.
