Hungary to host Science Olympiad in 2019
Hungary will hold the International Science Olympiad for high school students in several subjects in 2019
Balog said the Olympiad will cover biology, astronomy and astrophysics. Biology will receive state support of 125 million forints (EUR 400,000), with 280 competitors from 70 countries invited while astronomy and astrophysics will get a grant of 105 million forints and host 220 competitors from 40 countries, Balog said. Addressing students who did well in the 2015 Olympiads, Balog said they had outperformed expectations and raised hopes that a Hungarian may soon win another Nobel prize. He urged the students: "Whatever you do in life, teach, because it is best if the best minds teach".
