Jack Maxwell the "booze traveler" at Hungary - VIDEO
In the second season of the show, Maxwell visits Hungary and samples a variety of typical domestic drinks, while his companions tell him about the city and Hungarian traditions. At the beginning of the episode, titled “Hungary: Aliens, Soviets, and Gypsies”, the hosts wake the Booze Traveler with a shot of pálinka, followed by a sunrise pig-slaughtering party. As the intro declares, Jack Maxwell is “in search of the world’s most interesting drinks and the people who drink them” – and in Hungary, the most characteristic liquor for him seems to be pálinka, which goes well with any occasion.
Following this, Izabella Zwack – a leader of the Zwack Family, which has produced Hungary’s iconic Unicum bitters – takes him on a tour of the family’s distillery and the Zwack Museum, and tells him that Russian troops wanted to acquire the secret Unicum recipe after World War II, but could only lay their hands on a fake version.
