One of the biggest investors in the Hungarian fashion industry decided to fund the international expansion of the brand Konsanszky. Founded by Dóra Konsanszky, it’s one of the most successful brands in Hungarian contemporary fashion, recognizable from its innovative shapes and materials, paired with wearable simplicity. Casual elegance is key, and so are luxorious materials and tailoring techniques. All the products are made in Hungary by expereinced seamstresses.
The brand Konsanszky has been known in the international fashion sphere, presenting its previous collections in the London Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week. Now with the support of the foundation she’s planning to expand the brand to other countries, like the Netherlands, England, France, the Scandinavian countries and the main fashion capitals in Asia. Her short and medium-term plans included showing at the most important European fashion fairs such as CIFF in Copenhagen and Tranoï Femme in Paris. She's also aiming to upgrade the online presence of the brand.
The decision to invest was made following several months of preparations - said Imre Csuhaj, CEO of Széchenyi Capital Investment Fund at the press conference. He emphasized that at the brand Konsanszky he met a team where everyone knows their roles and the investor was not faced with the task of having to build a management team from the grounds up. Seeing the earlier success and international acclaim of Dora Konsanszky, the designer and co-funder behind her namesake label and the business strategy envisioned by Agnes Tus-Dzsurban, managing director and co-owner of the company, and Metanova Ltd., a business consulting firm set out a successful combination in which Széchenyi Investment Fund saw a great opportunity, and did not want to miss it.
The Fund has previously supported other Hungrian fashion labels, like Abodi, REKAVAGO or ÁERON, and we at OFF Media have no doubt that its newest investment will be a successful one too.
CEO Agnes Tus-Dzsurban said that despite the outstanding design talent on an international scale, this alone is not enough for business success. Nurturing a fashion label requires not only dreaming, but a very good business strategy, and needs capital funding. You can have the best product, but without a professional team, thought-out business concept and investors it's very hard to succeed.
